Messianic Music

Among my Messianic titles are "Come Out of Her, My People," "We've Got to get Ready," "We Will Always Be 17," and "Miracles." You are listening to these songs now!  Below are some beautiful scenes to look at while enjoying my music. This one is called "Mountain Reflections:"

This one is "Noah's Ark:"                                This is one of Shaya's paintings, called
"Deer In The Forest:"

At this time I'd like to add a statement about the songs on the Red Bird album. Because I am a Messianic believer, I must point out that at the time the songs were written and recorded for the Red Bird CD (1976-1980), I was very much a part of the world and totally unconverted. Therefore, the words are very secular in nature. One song, in particular, "Witches, Wizards, Sorcerers," (currently not available for listening on this website) was nearly deleted from the CD, because of its title and verbal content. The only reason it was ultimately included was because it was one of our best musical compositions, if not the best, and the recording was flawless. It was originally one of mine, but my words were, "I was walking by the water when I saw a man. He was sitting in an oak tree with a Bible in his hand." This was all I had lyrically, so Patti brought out one of her many poems, called "Witches, Wizards, Sorcerers," exclaiming that it "fit perfectly!" And so, a song I had intended to be at least semi-religious or Christian in nature, turned out to be the opposite. I felt I had to have a disclaimer for this song...indeed, for most or all the songs on the CD, due to their worldy content. I am a totally different person now than I was when those recordings were made. I do believe the music deserves to be heard though. It is a memorial of sorts for the loss of an incredibly talented artist and composer, Patti Jo Gathof, who was my friend and music partner for many years.
Sincerely,
Sue Rodgers Souvie, 2007
